The first Sunday Carvery in Desmond

Italian restaurant Fratello’s is getting ready to rescue busy families and hungover students alike, with the launch of Jesmond’s first Sunday carvery.

Geordie diners can pile their plates high at the eatery which sits within Holiday Inn Newcastle – Jesmond, as there’s no better way to end the weekend than with the British tradition of a hearty roast.

Hungry Horaces can whet their appetites at the complimentary chef’s starters table which has a selection of entrantes including homemade soup, fresh breads, prawn cocktail and more.

Then the main event, the carvery! Choose from a trio of slow cooked meats and unlimited servings of crispy roast potatoes, creamy mash, fresh vegetables and fluffy Yorkshire puddings. A roast wouldn’t be complete without the gravy, plus all the usual condiments are available.

Alice NG, general manager at Holiday Inn Newcastle – Jesmond, said: “We’ve searched all around Jesmond for a Sunday carvery but couldn’t find one anywhere, so thought it was only right to launch one here at Fratello’s.

“Whether it’s a weekly tradition with friends and family or a hopeful hangover cure, diners can now satisfy their carvery craving with our delicious – and unlimited – offering of a roast and all of the trimmings!”

Carvery is priced at £11.95 per person for adults. A children’s carvery is £5.95 and includes dessert.

Younger diners can get creative at a waffle station, selecting their own tasty toppings.

Adults with a sweet tooth can round off their meal with a variety of dessert options from sticky toffee pudding to chocolate tart, plus a Starbucks coffee for just £2.95.
