Newcastle based cancer charity will be holding a spectacular charity ball at The Grand Hotel in Gosforth celebrating all aspects of Indian culture.

Dragonfly Cancer Trust was set up in 2007 with the sole aim of bringing a little bit of joy and happiness to young cancer patients with no hope of a cure.

Their Bollywood Ball event on November 3 will raise vital funds to support these young people and their families during what is such a difficult time.

The charity provide Cash Gifts and organise “Dragonfly Dreams” to help young patients make the most of the time they have and create precious memories with family and friends.

Luxury Indian caterers, Payal, will be travelling to the North East to wow guests with an impressive four course Indian banquet.

Payal were the focal point of Channel 4’s “My Big Fat Asian Wedding” and will be enhancing the Bollywood experience on the night with their gourmet Indian feast.

The menu will cater for a variety of palates – so if spicy food is not your cup of chai, please don’t worry as there will be plenty of other options to choose from, all lovingly crafted by expert Payal chefs.

Guests will be fully immersed into the world of Bollywood, with activities and entertainment
throughout the evening to offer a genuine Indian experience.

The event is being held the weekend before Diwali – the popular Indian festival, traditionally celebrated with music and lights to celebrate the victory of light over darkness and good over evil.

“We want to deliver a genuine Bollywood experience” said Jane Dennison, Director of Fundraising “Our new Chair of Trustees has even been asking friends and family in India to send over various items to help make the night as authentic as possible.

We’re welcoming people of all cultures and backgrounds to join us for a fantastic evening in support of young cancer patients”

Tickets are available on an individual basis for £65.00, or £60.00 when purchased in tables of 10 or 12.
