This week we will celebrate the opening of Thaikhun – The eagerly anticipated Thai street food restaurant situated in the Qube at intu Metrocentre.
Their impending opening couldn’t come at a better time… as it’s that time of year when we’re thinking “What are our plans for Summer?” and we begin wanderlusting to the extreme. Thaikhun are renowned for their authentic cocktails and boast an impressive cocktail menu which yields a plethora of expedition inspiration.
Check out this quick guide to Thaikhun’s top ten Thai-inspired cocktails which are guaranteed to whisk you away for at least an hour or two…
1. FULL MOON
Sweet but yet refreshing! Vodka and orange liqueur with watermelon, apple and cranberry with a drizzle of Midori.
2. GOOD TIME GIRL
Vanilla Vodka and butterscotch schnapps blended with pineapple juice and passion fruit liqueur.
3. LET THE GOOD TIMES ROLL… COCONUT MOJITO
Traditional classic with a Thaikhun twist! Mint leaves and limes muddled with rum and coconut liqueur.
4. GIN COOLER
A real cool customer. Gin and Licor 43 shaken with fresh cucumber, lime and apple and lychee juice.
5. MY THAI
This stunning creation consists of Thai whiskey, Malibu, orange and strawberry liqueur mixed with pineapple juice and a dash of coconut cream.
6. THAI TAKEAWAY
Ketel One Vodka and Captain Morgan spiced rum with handpicked basil and mint leaves. Shaken with pineapple and lime juice, finished off with a dash of coconut cream.
7. CHILLI MELON COLLINS
A drink with a pleasant kick, Pepper vodka, orange liqueur, apple schnapps and watermelon.
8. STREET SIPPER
Tanqueray No.10 gin simply mixed with passion fruit and orange juice served to sip from a plastic bag.
9. KOH SAMUI FULL MOON
This ones’ to share for two with Ketel One vodka stirred in a bucket with lychee and passion fruit liqueur, pomegranate and lime juice, mint leaves and topped with ginger beer.
10. THAIKHUN
Full of authentic Thai flavours ginger, lemongrass, chilli and mint shaken with Chivas Regal, velvet falernum and apple juice. Go on, give your taste buds a treat.
