Founded in 1997 and initially specialising in jeans, Swedish design collective Acne Studios presents the first drop from their Autumn/Winter 2015 collection.
Revered for their sleek and simplistic take on classic menswear garb, the Stockholm-based brand, founded by Jonny Johansson, has recently become known for more conceptual collections inspired by a myriad of juxtaposing reference – A/W’15 coalescent influences include football, traditional British fabrics and sportswear.
The first drop from Acne’s new season effort eschews the contemporary ideas of the brand’s mainline showcase, instead applying Johansson’s obtuse influence to a slew of staple pieces. Cut to a muted, autumnal palette with hues running the gamut from black and navy to military greens and grape-informed purple; label regulars such as the Tony Face Coach Jacket, Isherwood Shirt, College Sweat and Standard Tee are given a Fall facelift, whilst the royally robust Garrett Jacket offers a hint to what’s on offer for the colder months.
