On Wednesday 20th April from 6:30pm onwards, Cabana would like to introduce the Brasilian spirit to Newcastle by inviting the movers and shakers to join them for cocktails and canapés, Latino-style.
Cabana, who’s official opening will be on the 21st April, will be located on Newgate Street in the newly revamped Cooperative Building in the trendy heart of Newcastle’s city centre and injecting some South American-style spirit and sass to the Tyne.
A little known fact to some, Newcastle was first championed as the ‘Brasilia of the North’ by visionary T. Dan Smith, who saw potential in the city’s interesting and diverse landscape in the 1960’s and highlighted the similarities between Newcastle and Brazil’s capital. Cabana want to reignite that vision and bring the atmosphere and culture of Brasil to the streets of the North East.
The award winning Brasilian barbecue restaurant have invited some local friends and friends from afar to kick start the party including model, DJ and all-round good-time Geordie lass Helen Holt.
Let the party vibes continue with critically acclaimed South American sensation DJ Carlito. With his funky fusion of Latin flavour and house music from across the globe, he is sure to get you swinging your arms and stomping your feet on the dancefloor, hopefully with a cocktail or two!
The taster menu for the evening will feature Cabana’s signature barbecue skewers, including their best-selling Spicy Malagueta Chicken and chilli and cumin Cabana Steak. Also on offer will be a selection of Brasilian street food snacks including Crispy Lula Squid with Malagueta Mayo and Spicy Malagueta Chicken Doughnuts!
As well as Cabana’s delicious barbecue food (these guys are serious experts!), the bar will also be serving up Brasil’s famous (and our favourite!) Caipirinha cocktail in classic, fruity and fiery variations, alongside some exciting Brasilian craft beers.
Cabana Brasilian Barbecue will be open to the public on April 21st 2016.
Address: The Cooperative Building, 117 Newgate St, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE1 5RZ
