Aspiring hairdressers and hair extension fitters are being given the chance to learn new skills and build on their existing qualifications – or gain new ones in the process.
Foxy Hair Extensions, which has branches in Newcastle and the intu MetroCentre, is to run a number of courses training on the different methods of inserting hair extensions, with customers and experienced hairdressers alike invited to take part.
It’s hoped the courses will create more qualified extension fitting experts and in the process giving the region a jobs boost going forward.
The first course takes place on August 10 and focuses on pre-bonded and Micro Ring fitting and is available only to those with an existing hairdressing qualification, including hair trainees.
The same level of qualification is required to take part in the hair weave training course on October 19, with both courses lasting from 10am-5pm. The third course which centres on Tape Hair is open to any customer regardless of existing experience or qualification and is on September 7 from 10am-3pm.
Simon Fox, from Foxy Hair Extensions said:“The courses on offer give clients the chance to build themselves a career and in the process learn something new. As well as that, they give experienced hairdressers an opportunity to extend their skills. “Helping people better themselves is something we’re passionate about, so the courses on offer are a big step forward for us.”
The hair weave and pre-bonded course cost £499.95 with the Tape Hair course costing £299.95. All course prices include VAT and starter kit and all take place at Newcastle’ St James’ Park.
