What initially started off as a small festival has quickly grown into one of the most loved in the North.
Whilst the festival reaches out to many from afar, the event’s organisers are very much about building a festival that brings together local communities. Gateshead B&MF endeavour to support local businesses by sourcing local produce as well as involving local charities which include FACT, St Oswald’s Hospice & the Teenage Cancer Trust at this year’s event.
As always there’s 3 days of great music and headlining this year are a host of sensational bands including; legendary Bessie & The Zinc Buckets who have recently performed at their own sell-out gig at Newcastle’s City Hall, Keswick Beer Festival favourite The mOObs and the sensational Smoove & Turrell who have established themselves as one of the top Soul & Funk Bands in the Country.
The line-up also features; Metro Radio’s “The Big Audition Winners” – North Road ,who supported The Vamps & Little Mix at the Metro Radio Arena. Durham duo Claypath will be performing as a 4 piece featuring songs from their new album. The Fest also welcomes back Antonio Lulic fresh from his tour of South America Supporting Ed Sheeran. There’s also talent from The Sage Silver programme which provides a wide variety of daytime musical workshops for people over 50.
There will be, of course, a great selection of ales which are sourced both local and countrywide to ensure there’s ample opportunity for local brewers to showcase their ales.
In addition to the popular Cava bar, The Jam Jar Gin Bar has been added to this year’s festival.
