A TYNESIDE children’s charity has been chosen to win up to £3,000 in the Lloyds Bank Community Fund. Smile for Life in Gosforth was one of 7,000 entries of charities and community groups across the UK hoping for a share of the prize money. And now it has been announced that the charity, that helps disabled, disadvantaged and special needs children in the North East, will definitely win between £500 and £3,000. The amount awarded relies on votes, and the charity is urging people to get behind them to win the top prize.

All of the money will have a direct impact on children and families in the North East and allow them to have easier and happier lives.”

Smile For Life receives application requests from local people to help with anything from specialist equipment, dream days or life changing experiences for disabled and disadvantaged youngsters in need. The charity aims to fulfil as many requests as possible and relies solely on grants, sponsors and fundraisers to do this.
