Today John Lewis Newcastle has become home to healthy food and drink café, Joe & The Juice. The concession was opened by John Lewis Newcastle’s head of branch, Karen Matthew and UK Manager for Joe & The Juice, Patrick Engbo. The latest opening introduces the brand’s first café in the North East and the ninth venue in the UK.

The opening follows the announcement that John Lewis will be developing its partnerships with Joe & The Juice and pizzeria, Rossopomodoro, introducing nine further outlets across its shops within the next year.

Joe & The Juice was founded in Copenhagen and opened its first UK outlet in 2009. It now has five cafés in London, two in Manchester and one in the John Lewis Solihull branch. Menus offer early morning juices and lattes, shots and shakes using the freshest fruit and vegetables, as well as healthy sandwiches.

Karen Matthew, head of branch at John Lewis Newcastle, said: “It’s great to be able to expand our successful relationship with Joe & The Juice, bringing them to the branch and indeed to the city. Healthy, freshly pressed juices are a popular lifestyle trend right now and this partnership allows us to offer yet another compelling reason for customers to shop with us.”

Patrick Engbo, UK manager, Joe & The Juice, added; “We’ve been humbled by the response to our brand here in the UK. The feedback from our café in John Lewis Solihull and on the roof of the Oxford Street store has been incredible and it feels exciting to be building on our relationship with John Lewis as we bring our first café to the North East. We’re confident local shoppers in Newcastle will enjoy what we have to offer and we can’t wait to open to the public.”
