THE ladies of the North East are being encouraged to get down on one knee to claim a discounted wedding at one of the city’s most iconic and well-loved venues.

To mark the leap year, which falls on Monday 29 February, Newcastle’s Assembly Rooms is offering a discounted wedding package to ladies brave enough to propose to their other half live at the venue.

To be in with a chance of taking part, any ladies looking to pop the question should call or send an email to The Assembly Rooms to arrange a suitable date and time to get down on one knee at the venue, before claiming their exclusive bargain wedding package.

Couples who get engaged live at the venue will be offered a wedding package discounted to £2,916, to mark the leap year date, catering for 60 guests, including a four-course Wedding Breakfast, day-time room hire, red carpet welcome, a glass of Bucks Fizz, Pimms or Soft Drink on arrival, a glass of sparkling wine for the Wedding Toast, white table linen, Toastmaster service, personalised menu cards and a seating plan, cake stand and knife, as well as a changing area for the bride and groom.

Emily Berry, Bonbar and The Assembly Rooms’ sales and marketing executive said: “We are always looking to offer our patrons something a little different so when we realised 2016 was a leap year we knew we had to get on board and encourage our female customers to harness some ‘girl power’ and get the ball rolling in the wedding stakes!

“It’s a not-to-be-missed opportunity; as those who take part could take advantage of a generously discounted wedding here at The Assembly Rooms.”

Participants must email or call 0191 232 8695 before 5pm on Friday 04 March 2016 to arrange a date and time for their big proposal to take place at The Assembly Rooms. Terms and conditions apply.
