Couldn’t get in for your candlelit dinner at Gregg’s? Or has your other half suddenly announced they want to do something special this Valentine’s, leaving you scrabbling for inspiration, trying to make it look like that had been your intention all along?
Well, let us help you out there… here are five ideas for a Valentine’s outing which are a bit more novel than a meal for two.
- Mr Mulligan’s Space Golf.
Yes, Space Golf. You read that correctly. This indoor crazy golf adventure has just opened its doors in Newcastle and looks to be a whole lot of fun. There are three different courses to try, Inventor’s Hangar, Cosmic Story and Lunar Crash, and with a late night bar and restaurant, this place is a date which is sure to take you to the moon and back. Prices vary from £5.75 for one game to £11.25 for all three, with discounts available for concessions. Booking is advised.
- Valentine’s Skate at the Centre for Life
Brrr it’s cold outside, so what better excuse to cuddle up to your loved one than a smoochy skate on the outdoor rink at Life? Also a great reason for hand holding while you show off your Winter Olympic inspired repertoire, just make sure you don’t have a wipe out. Warm up with a nice hot chocolate afterwards for a date which is bound to melt the heart of even the iciest of souls. Couples skate for £10 between 5 and 7pm, pre-booking is advised.
- Valentine’s Special at the Tyneside Cinema.
Each year Newcastle’s love-liest cinema puts their Valentine’s screening to the public vote. This year, Sleepless in Seattle was chosen as the most romantic film ever and will be screened in a special event on Valentine’s night. Couples can sit down to enjoy a three-course meal in the Tyneside Café before cuddling up for the film in the Gallery. £35 per person, booking essential.
- Couples 2-4-1 bounce at Jump 360 Trampoline Park.
Why not jump for your love this Valentine’s Day and leap into your lover’s arms at Jump 360 Newcastle’s newest trampoline park? As well as bouncing to your heart’s content you can enjoy foam pits, a climbing wall, a rotating beam, or even win your crush’s favour with your prowess on the 20-obstacle Geordie Ninja Warrior Course. If all that action gets you a bit hot under the collar you can cool off with a free Polar Krush slushy. The Valentine’s offer is available between 4pm and 8pm to over 16s only.
- Valentine’s Funfair at Team Valley.
If you are planning on popping the question this Valentine’s Day, the funfair at the Team Valley is offering to help you plan a proposal to remember. With one of the largest big wheels in the country you could declare your love while enjoying views over Tyneside or perhaps scare your other half into submission on the ghost train. However you fancy doing it, the team at the fair have offered to help you make the perfect plan, just drop them a message on Facebook. The fair is open until Sunday 18th so there is still time to conquer those nerves and muster up the courage. Admission is £1 and parking is available on site.
