We Love this fab hand-drawn map of Newcastle upon Tyne and the surrounding area.

Lovingly made by local lass – Jojo Oldham, the illustration is crammed with scribbles, quips and interesting local facts. The quirky map also displays exact locations of famous Geordie landmarks such as; The Baltic, St James Park, The Angel of the North and Whitley Bay.

When you examine the map closely, It’s easy to appreciate the hundreds of hours of work (and love), in which home-grown artist Jojo, has injected into this epic project.

Although the map isn’t necessarily drawn to scale (Reference – The cows in the Town Moor section of the map) , You are certainly able to use Jojo’s masterpiece in order to gain a perspective of our city’s intricacy and history.

The map isn’t just fun…it’s also educational! Bursting with interesting facts like; The Town Moor is larger than Hyde Park and Hampstead Heath combined, The Riverside is where Seattle grunge legends -Nirvana played their first UK show and most interesting of all…where our Cheryl went to school! Jojo has even incorporated the words to Lindesfarne’s ‘Fog on the Tyne’ which snake along her depiction of the River Tyne.
