CABANA, the award winning Brasilian barbecue restaurant group, are excited to announce they are opening their first Newcastle restaurant this year, their tenth addition to their expanding Brasilian empire and third restaurant in the North of England. Newcastle’s famous nightlife, as well as the city’s passion for fashion, celebrities and sport create a fantastic atmosphere which is the perfect fit for Cabana’s fun and energetic Brasilian brand.
founded in 2011 by restaurateurs Jamie Barberand and David Ponté (Momo), Cabana will be located in the newly revamped Cooperative Building in the trendy heart of Newcastle’s city centre, creating 40 new jobs and injecting some South American-style spirit and sass to the Tyne.
“After the success of both Manchester and Leeds in the North, we can’t wait to showcase a taste of Brasil at Cabana to Newcastle…” Jamie Barber, co-founder of Cabana
So what can the lovely people of Newcastle expect?
As a result of this £1m investment, you can expect to experience Cabana classics such as their best-selling Spicy Malagueta Chicken (fans include Oprah Winfrey and the England Rugby team) made with their signature hot and spicy Malagueta Chilli sauce and mouth-watering meat skewers along with a wide selection of tasty authentic Brasilian street snacks such as chicken ‘Coxinhas’ (croquettes of chicken and spices) and ‘Bolinhos’ (crunchy fried rice balls).
As well as Cabana’s delicious barbecue food (these guys are serious experts!), there will be a dedicated bar area serving up Brasil’s famous Caipirinha cocktail in classic and exotic flavours, including the UK’s first ‘Frozen Caipirinha’. With classic and dessert cocktails and Brasilian craft beers available, Cabana is the perfect place to party.
“After the success of both Manchester and Leeds in the North, we can’t wait to showcase a taste of Brasil at Cabana to Newcastle, and we hope it will become one of the city’s go-to destinations,” said Jamie Barber, co-founder of Cabana. “Brasilian Food has been dubbed the cuisine of 2016, so we are really excited about the opening in Newcastle to show off our signature Spicy Malagueta Chicken, famous cocktails and energetic Brasilian atmosphere.”
