This year The BBC Radio 6 Music Festival 2015 is heading to Newcastle upon Tyne and featuring an ever-growing bill of over 50 bands and artists, with three days of live music and conversation, reflecting the spirit of 6 Music. These will take place across several venues, both day and night.

6 Music Festival by Night consists of Friday night at the O2 Academy Newcastle and Saturday and Sunday night at the Sage, Gateshead. With over 40 artists across six stages over three nights, the events bring together an impressive line-up of established acts and emerging artists who represent the very best alternative music of the moment. Tickets for each night of the festival will go on sale at 10am across three consecutive days, starting this Friday, 30 January.

Plus Mary Anne Hobbs will be hosting 6 Music Festival Late, happening after hours on Saturday 21 February and featuring Jamie xx, Four Tet and Gilles Peterson.

Lauren Laverne says: “Last year’s first ever 6 Music Festival was an incredible weekend featuring a fabulous line-up of music plus conversation at the Festival Fringe. It was great to meet so many of our listeners as we listened to the great and good perform together. This year’s 6 Music Festival is going to be one to remember.”

Additionally, there will be a 6 Music Festival by Day (which will be ticketed separately to the night-time events) in venues in The Ouseburn and Stephenson Quarter areas of the city, on Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 February, 11am-6pm.
The full line up of the 6 Music Festival by Day will be announced on 6 Music on Tuesday 3 February.
