Newcastle’s Quayside Seaside returns, and, this year, there’s a new feature catching the eyes of passers-by.

NE1 had promised that this year’s beach would be bigger and better and they delivered! Colourful mini beach huts have now been added alongside the usual deck chairs and volley ball nets, and there’s even an official ice cream seller on hand.

Now in its fourth year, the pop-up beach, which is next to the Pitcher and Piano, between the Millennium Bridge and the Tyne Bridge, has always been a success with sun worshippers or those just wanting to sit and take a load off their feet.

Even if we get our summer a bit later than expected this year, sun worshippers won’t miss out as the beach will remain in place until the beginning of October.

Last year, The Seaside played host to a number of events, including CBBC Live filming there for three days, as well as volleyball taster sessions.

I Love Newcastle Magazine would love to hear your thoughts about the above post, so please feel free to share them in the comments box below.
